SERMONS
This sermon is titled "Are You Living By Faith" and God said without faith, it is impossible to please Him. He created us for His pleasure or to do His will so the question is are we? are we living by faith and do our actions/obedience prove it? Because faith without the actions/works to prove it leads to death. Obedience to God’s Commands proves we love Him and we are to always obey His Word as we move and live by faith to where He tells us to go. The Bible said that Moses settled or was content to stay where he wanted to raise his family - no faith involved to do his choice. But God told him to name his child Gershom which meant, “this place is only temporary”. God was trying to get Moses attention (the burning bush), to change his life, to get out of the rut (even though it was a good rut) but a rut always leads to boredom and a dead end. It was only after Moses decided that “I will now turn” to see what God wants of me that God spoke and the man who once settled became a man full of faith that lived a life that was pleasing unto God. He parted the Red Sea, wrote down the Ten Commandments, freed God’s People from slavery… are you living by faith? are you in a rut? have you settled for your plan? what has God called you to do?
God created you and I in His image and HE said in His Word that you and I are blessed ! As a born again believer, followers or imitators of Jesus Christ (or the Word) and being obedient to His Commands to go and make disciples, be fruitful and multiply (replicate ourselves as followers), we are walking in that blessing.
We may not always feel like we are blessed because our natural man wants life perfect from our job, spouse, friends, money etc. so we measure our blessing based on what we want and not what we need. God said that His Blessing makes us rich (plentiful, ample) in all of these areas in our life and He provides all our needs. Our old way of thinking (pride) causes us to have feelings that lead to depression, worry, anxiety but when we do what is right or righteous and think about what is true, pure and lovely our feelings change to line up with Gods Word. You and I are blessed when we are walking with God, being obedient to His Word, do what it says to do… Remember, you are not stuck where God has placed you today, you are positioned ! God is for and not against you, You are Blessed ! - PG
No one likes to wait. But, when we know something is going to be good we are willing to wait for it. So, what do you do when waiting for the next step that God has for you in your life? Do you prepare for it? Do you complain? Become fearful when the wait is longer then you thought? ready to give up and go a different direction? In the natural, we understand waiting. Waiting to finish college before I can become an engineer, waiting until you're old enough, waiting until you have enough money saved etc. God will promote you when you are ready - don't waste your time while waiting and miss the opportunity that God has given you time to prepare for the "good thing" where He will prosper you for His Purpose.
